| Complaint | Well you can imagine my surprise, when looking for a website for Poynt to write them a letter. I came across another complaint about poynt and the debit orders.
My story goes like this.
I got a call about this time last year , long story short. I was sold a once off package of vouchers for R250. A once off payment. I gave them my Maintenance account details as I had some spare cash in there. All was well until a few months ago. I checked my statement only to see that, a monthly deduction of R250 had been deducted by POYNT. I contacted them immeadiately and was told that I had agreed to a 12 month contract. I threw all my toys out the cot and demanded that they listen to the tape as I was adamant that I had been told it was a once off payment. The lady pulled the tape and called me back saying to me that I was in fact liable as I had consented to a twelve month contract. I refused to take her word for it and threatened to come down to there offices with my attorney and listen to the tape. Angela from Poynt called me shortly thereafter and I insisted on hearing the whole taped conversation, it was then that she heard that I was in fact told it was a once off payment and that I had asked numerous times during the call are you sure this is a once off" to which the girl replied yes. Angela then said that they would reimburse me. Well that was a month ago and although I have made every attempt to get my money back, I still havent been succesfull. I have tried to get the names of or contact one of the directors of this company, but without success. I am told they are in a meeting. I havent given up yet. It is more a matter of principle than it is about the money. The fact that at first after having listened to the tape they still tried to convince meI had signed up for this 12 months. Its ridiculous. I just cant seem to get through to them or get my refund. They claim that it is because they changed there system over nad dont have records of all the debit orders they put through on my savings account. What do you do in a situation like this? |
